About Antonio
My name is Antonio Permuy. Welcome to my website!
I have experience in communications, community engagement, fine art, and advocacy. My main passion, however, is Legacy. As a Legacy Consultant, I am committed to preserving the history of people, places, and things that deserve to be remembered in a way that validates and honors their story.
I am passionate about history, culture, art, design, civic engagement, and community building — and exploring the intersections between them. My interests converge around how legacy runs through the past, present, and future to trace impact and tell stories.
This gives me a deeper, fuller perspective in what I do, and in the avenues I pursue to be successful in my projects. I have learned that each of these areas capture different facets of our stories which, like a mosaic, come together to form the full picture of the legacies that shape our current identities… and hint to where we are going.
This passion is deeply rooted. Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by history. I never saw it as something dull, distant, or unimportant. Whether it was learning about Ancient Egypt or family stories and traditions from my grandparents, I relished the opportunity to immerse myself in other places and times.
I am still drawn to exploring the balance between change and continuity, and seeing how the past affects the present. To put this passion into action, I look for ways to tie the past with the future to ensure history is never forgotten. This keeps it relevant, gives it new life and meaning, and makes our lives part of something bigger.
My passion is deepened by a unique personal background that helped shape the way I understand legacy. While I did not always realize how special it was, I was fortunate enough to have been surrounded by history and culture from the start of my life. Having been born in Lenox Hill of New York City, raised in Miami, and now based in the arts hub of Tampa Bay, supporting culture and community have always been major themes in my life.
In fact, it is an outlook I was raised with in families engaged with public service, community advocacy, art patronage, architecture and urban planning. In many ways, my life experiences have made me uniquely-suited to step into this role and uplift the legacy of others.
I began legacy consulting within my own family. Today our architecture practice, Permuy Architecture, is an award-winning and well regarded firm with an international client base. While heading up exciting events for the firm that represent modern day relevance, I always make sure to incorporate our family’s earliest contributions in architecture, urban planning, community development and culture to give proper context and show the depth of foundation that we bring to our projects.
As a result, I ensured our annual company Christmas Gala is not just a party, but also an art exhibition to support local artists and honor our family’s roots in the arts. Putting on the holiday party while curating the art show connects the present with the past, while sharing a piece of my family's culture with our clients, friends, and the community.
At my core, I truly enjoy doing this kind of work. I am someone who enjoys connecting people, places, and groups, especially for impactful purposes. I develop strategies, utilize networks, and maximize resources to help materialize important projects and make things happen.
Regardless of the field, I have remained dedicated to sharing unique and interesting things with others, especially things that deserve to be remembered.
As a Legacy Consultant, I bring a clarity of purpose and a range of tools, strategies, and experience to helping others capture the histories and impact of their loved ones, projects, and communities.
