Legacy is built on a strong foundation.
I offer Legacy Services across a range of areas that I have established expertise in.
My services include Writing, Editing, Strategy & Planning, Coaching, Marketing & Communications, Framing Themes & Narratives, Curating Events, Short & Long-term Positioning, Project Management & Facilitation in the following areas:
Legacy Services:
-
These can serve as documentation for other projects, and can be done long after subject has passed.
-
Being the subject of analysis communicates significance within a field and can help frame narratives. These can also become future references for additional Legacy Projects.
-
Events can amplify the visibility and impact of other projects, or mark previous accomplishments (such as through anniversaries and milestones).
-
With suitable evidence, recognitions can be secured from a range of sources either directly related to the subject or to the broader community.
-
These include: Consulting, Curating, Facilitating Commissions, Critiques, Artist Statements, Patronage facilitation, etc.
-
Film allows for a more dynamic and visual medium to capture legacies which can then be spread through various formats and outlets.
-
Having organized archives allows for more efficient retrieval of legacy-supporting documentation. This can then be digitized, expanded with additional database material, and potentially donated to other institutions of importance to further a legacy.
-
Existing resources can include websites, social media, newsletters, and any other public-facing outlets already in place. This maximizes resources, ensures consistency, and amplifies effectiveness for long term legacy development.
-
In the 21st century, if your impact cannot be easily found online, it loses credibility as well as longevity. We offer several strategies to ensure a legacy exists online and lasts into the future.
Additional Information:
Each service often also requires research into its Legacy Project(s) and related subjects.
For more extensive projects — such as events, recognitions, and film projects — reports will be prepared for clients outlining the recommended plan.
Depending on the budget, scope, and intent of the Legacy Project, I can personally oversee the implementation of the plan, or the client can opt to implement the project themselves based on the points laid out on the report.
On some occasions, a web-like strategy may be advisable. This involves using multiple Legacy Projects to more fully capture the impact of a person, organization, or community in several areas. This allows impact to be traced back to the core subject through several paths, as well as for each project to reinforce the other.
In the event that services are required outside of my offerings, I can refer clients to other specialists or firms that provide more appropriate expertise in those areas.
Exploratory call
To best understand my approach and the various options available to clients, I offer a complimentary 30-45 minute exploratory phone call consultation.
During this call we will explore the elements available to determine the viability and scope of a potential Legacy Project.
We will review existing records, archive material, and other evidence that show documentable impact of the subject, as well as information that can be captured in a project.
This evidence allows us to determine the degree of planning needed, the kinds of projects possible, as well as the steps required to properly capture and present the legacy of the subject.
Please be prepared to discuss the documentation that exists to maximize the time of our exploratory call.
Once we have reviewed the information, we can then craft an implementable blueprint for a viable Legacy Project.
